I am reminded of the one time I visited. We were out on the deck with snow piled all around. It was Christmas time and we were visiting from Washington. Your mom said, "Don't step off the Deck" and for the life of me I could not see why not, but chose to ask (rather than step) and she said. "because it's eight feet off the ground!" I would have been stuck there 'til spring!

You and I went out and cut a tree that year. later as I remembered the deck story, it occurred to me that we probably had not chopped down a tree, but more accurately had "topped" a tree. So, somewhere in the woods around the pond there is a trapezoidal pine wondering, "hey, what happened?"

Anyway, loved your musings about the place.

Have a great Christmas and I hope to see you soon,

MikeMichael F. Our fall here in Vermont has about passed but the trees have not completely given up; the hills are sort of a green rust these days as the last of the leaves hang on.Tylerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11022686099549424626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9061737323978747943.post-21352364133873590952008-11-12T08:05:00.000-05:002008-11-12T08:05:00.000-05:00Sweet, my dear brother.Sweet, my dear brother.Sisnoreply@blogger.com
